Canadian Chalet in Knowlton, Quebec

The Canadian chalet featured in this project represents a refined synthesis of historic architecture and contemporary design. Designer Luke Havekes, an expert at enhancing spaces through bespoke furnishings, has reinterpreted the interiors by skillfully integrating noble materials and period pieces. A distinctive element is the use of Fortuny lamps, whose warm, enveloping light imbues the spaces with a sophisticated yet intimate atmosphere. Their presence in the living areas and common spaces creates a harmonious contrast with the robustness of the fir logs and the timelessness of the antique furnishings.

The project involved interventions that preserved the original features of the 1968 wooden structure, enhancing its enduring charm. Every area, from the living room to the dining space, is characterized by exquisite details: tables and side tables crafted from natural materials, antique fabrics, and artisanal finishes blend with the elegance of the Fortuny lamps, transforming light into a true design element. The result is a welcoming and refined interior where history and innovation intertwine to create a unique and sophisticated atmosphere.
